Delivery Issues with Cohen Mint (rhodium coins)

Ordered some 1 gram Rhodium coins in July of 2009. No delivery as of today. Unable to contact. Emails unanswered. Phone not answered and goes right to an answering machine. They are still taking orders for these coins. I'm disputing this order with paypal.

Is Cohen Mint in trouble or out of business? Has anyone actually purchased from them in the past? Opinions appreciated.

I've bought some gold from them in the past. I received my order but it took over 6 weeks.

I just got a full refund from Paypal. It took forever to get a Human on the phone at paypal but once I did, it went smooth. They did not hesitate to give me a full refund and it was INSTANT. I didn't have to say a word other than "I want a refund".

I did not get the coin. I filed a complaint with Paypal who sent me a note saying they sided with me but could not guarantee payment. On the website they say they cannot side with me, but indicates a refund was processed. I have not seen the refund.

I cannot seem to contact Cohen Mint, email or phone.

I called over a week ago and got a hold of Eichan Cohen. He was sympathetic and said he wanted to get me my rhodium coin. He claimed he know nothing about my Paypal issue. I left him my phone number. I checked yesterday, but still no rhodium coin.

Paypal has clarified that they ruled in my favor and against Cohen mint, but cannot compensate me. Apparently Cohen Mint had some problems with Paypal, but now they are taking their problems out on their customers (like me).

I will give them another week or so, and may consider calling the FBI (suggested by Paypal, they have a section for internet fraud); though I have misgivings about that.

thats not a coin, that is a speck, a microdot. should be about the size of a sunflower seed?

A gram of anything is going to modest is size but it's still reasonable for a rhodium coin. Gold and even silver are sold in gram amounts - one gram of gold is about as small as I'd want to go (although I do have some ¼ gram platinum bits...) Just bear in mind that rhodium is quite a bit less dense than gold so a gram of it is bigger than the 1g gold pieces you may have seen.

Took four months.

I lost all hope for getting my coin, but I was wrong.

Very happy about the coin. Looks better than I expected.

Will buy again.

Would recomend if willing to put up with delays.

$245 over spot. For $21 more you can get a Proof Buffalo from the mint, guess which one I'd choose.

Such long delivery with rhodium is troubling. Risky, because it might not leave you time flip as rhodium is so volatile.
